3/2009-3/2013                                      

Senior Researcher, Metapopulation Research Group (group leader: Professor Ilkka Hanski, Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki). Leader of the Glanville fritillary butterfly genome and genetics project in the Metapopulation Research Group. During the project the whole genome of the Glanville fritillary butterfly will be sequenced using next-generation sequencing technologies followed by large scale population based SNP detection. Impact of genetic variation will be analyzed on individual, population, metapopulation, and evolutionary levels. The project is funded by European Research Council (ERC) and the Academy of Finland for five years.
