Tutkimuksen ja opetuksen kuvaus

Terhi Utriainen is Professor in the Study of Religions at the University of Helsinki (Faculty of Theology) as well as Adjunct Professor (Docent) both in the Study of Religions and Gender Studies. Her research and teaching interests include ethnography of lived and vernacular religion, gender and embodiment, ritual studies, death, dying and suffering. She has recently co-edited the special issue Religion and Spirituality as Sites of learning (Approaching Religion 14:2 [2024]) and is co-editor of Post-secular Society (Transaction Publishers 2013), Finnish Women Making Religion: Between Ancestors and Angels (Palgrave MacMillan 2014) and The Relational Dynamics of Enchantment and Sacralization: Changing the Terms of the Religion versus Secularity Debate (Equinox 2016), as well as the special issue Appropriation as a Perspective and Topic in the Study of Religon in the journal Approaching Religion (13/3).
