Establishing an African Studies SSH network at the University of Helsinki

1. to establish the inter- and multidisciplinary African Studies SSH Network, involving researchers from all faculties at the City Centre campus;
2. to develop an innovative approach to create and consolidate a joint interdisciplinary research agenda for the network, provide solid epistemological foundations for it and set it up to act as a catalyst for future activities and research projects;
3. to increase the University of Helsinki’s international visibility and impact in African Studies through membership in key international networks and organisations
4. to be integrated into HSSH activities, especially in developing innovative methodological approaches in the field.
