Symbionts and changing environment: Lichen diversity and photobiont associations in tropical mountain ecosystems

Projekti: Tutkimusprojekti

Projektin yksityiskohdat

Kuvaus (abstrakti)

We study lichen symbiont diversity in tropical mountains, including surveys of remnant forest patches in a global biodiversity hot spot and along a steep natural climatic gradient on the slope of a high tropical volcano. The goal is to elucidate the effects of environmental change to lichen symbiotic organisms. The study areas of this project are located in tropical mountains of Kenya and Tanzania.

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No 705777.
