The Central Valley HIV/AIDS Project

This is a collaborative project with Fresno State Sociology Associate Professor Chris Sullivan that explores how people in Central California remember the AIDS pandemic. Through interviews with long-term survivors, physicians, nurses, care workers, and family members, we are examining social narratives of grieving and loss that have rarely been publicly acknowledged. We are also tracing the social and health care response to the disease and emergence of community organizing.
