Water Budget Model Comparison

The Life+ FutMon Project (C1-MET-29 -BY) focuses on the water budget modelling of UNECE LRTAP ICP Forest level II intensive monitoring plots. The objective is to compare various water budget models (one of which is WATBAL developed by myself) in order to provide recommendations for standardized water budget modelling of European forest stands. Specific aims of the model comparison are to: test the performance of various water budget models on selected test sites (ICP Forest level II plots) with different climatic characteristics, soils and stands, evaluate the performance of the modeller/model combination concerning different water budget components, evaluate model calibration, and identify parameters that are crucial for quality simulation.
