Kuvaus

This paper summarizes the methodology chapter of my soon to appear monograph on transtextual poetics of Assyrian royal narrative texts. It presents a condensed overview of a methodology developed for analysing transtextual phenomena within said corpus, and elucidates on two selected aspects, architextuality and hypertextuality, through a range of examples. This paper is especially concerned with the utilization of mytho-epic pre-texts in Assyrian royal narrative texts.
