Hallintokokeilut ilmastonmuutoksen hillitsemisessä: Analyysi kokeilujen kriittisistä tekijöistä ja alueellisista ulottuvuuksista

Climate change set challenges for conventional policy making. In this context, governance experiments may provide opportunities to seek innovative policy solutions. This article examines governance experiments on climate action through their regional reach and factors that are critical in the realization of the experiments. In particular, this article examines how governance experiments on climate action differ from five other types of experiments on these terms. Statistical analyses of sustainability experiments in 28 European countries show that there are statistically significant differences between types of experiments and types of critical factors. Governance experiments are less technological than product experiments and more political than social experiments in terms of critical factors. Differences in organization according to regional reach could also be observed. Governance experiments have a greater local character than most of the other experiments. These results characterize governmental experiments in climate action and can be used when designing future experiments.
