Abstract The NSF-DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory announced plans to modify the release timetable for the final data preview (DP2) and its first data release (DR1). The Observatory solicited community feedback regarding potential paths forward, as supplied by the Observatory, in light of the schedule change. In this Note, the Rubin Observatory LSST Solar System Science Collaboration provides its feedback concerning these options and the impact on solar system science. We strongly favor transition into survey operations and the release of the existing Science Validation commissioning data and alerts at the earliest possible opportunity.
