In this on-going study, it is suggested that tensions and contradictions could act as a “bridging concept” (Elkjaer and Huysman 2008) between organizational and workplace learning. Stemming from different disciplinary backgrounds and commitments it is also useful to find ways to bridge these quite distinct areas of research. Selected four studies will be reviewed as resources for studies conducted in complex organizational and work settings. Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the design phase of a construction project is studied as a potential case requiring new approaches of organizational learning.
