This paper presents a work-in-progress case study on a university course, which employed and experimented with several Information and Communication Technology solutions to foster student engagement and co-construction of knowledge. Employing cartographic description and analysis this study tries to understand the contribution of the non-human actors like software and tablet computers in relation to the whole. The initial findings indicate technical means like anonymous commenting and Apple AirPlay can facilitate collective inquiry among around 80 participants. This seems to require very solid technical infrastructure, careful alignment to teaching aims and a lot of flexibility, preparation and rethinking the teacher's role.
