Doctor, sociologist, researcher and a book author. Her book Stalin's purges of Finns was published and well recognized in Finland 2023. She defended her Ph.D. dissertation Deportations, Diaspora and Resistance during Stalin's Time in the Letters and Oral Histories of Ingrian Finns in the University of Helsinki 2023. Her multidisciplinary research includes sociology, history, ethnography, and oral history. She has done qualitative, quantitative, and historical research on the topics of ethnic minorities, forced migration, counter narratives, integration, exclusion, stigma, social networks, and rehabilitation. She has previously worked on the Finnish Academy project Developing theory and methodology in the study of the effects of discrimination and marginalization. Her work experience includes also working as a planner in media and communications at the Rehabilitation Foundation.
