Beata Segercrantz Ph.D. (Management and organization, Hanken School of Economics) is University Lecturer in social psychology at the Swedish School of Social Science at the University of Helsinki. Her current research mainly contributes to critical studies of care work and innovation. She is in particular interested in questions around quality in institutional living (e.g. in elderly care, child protection and mental health), but also in how innovation is discursively constructed in management research, in EU social innovation policy and during technology implementation projects in care organizations. Her analyses focus mainly on (un)desirable effects of innovation, subjectivity, identity, interpersonal relations and power relations from a discursive perspective. Her work has been has been published as book chapters and in international journals. She is co-editor of the book “Challenging the innovation paradigm” and Associate Editor for the journal Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management (QROM).
