Information om forskning och undervisning

Berfin's doctoral project examines how the externalization of migration management (i.e., the practices of deportation/expulsion and restriction on the freedom of movement such as containment and immigration detention) affects the "access" of migrants in irregular circumstances to their "right to have rights". It contextualizes this question by developing a theoretical framework with insights from Hannah Arendt and other contemporary theorists and by conducting empirical studies in the context of Greek hotspots and Turkey.
