I currently work as a Senior Advisor for Doctoral Education at Helsinki University Research Services. I am responsible for the administration of the Doctoral Programmes for Integrative Life Sciences (ILS), Clinical Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and Drug Research (DPDR).

I have a PhD and a docentship in aesthetics. I defended my doctoral thesis Going Elsewhere: A Phenomenology of Aesthetic Immersion in 2019. In 2019–2022, I worked as postdoctoral researcher in aesthetics at the University of Helsinki. My research focuses on topics related to aesthetic experience, especially aesthetic immersion. I am also interested in phenomenological and hermeneutic aesthetics and the history of modern aesthetics. Besided research, I teach courses on aesthetics both at the University of Helsinki, Open University, and Helsinki Finnish Adult Education Centre.

I am currently the President of the Finnish Society for Aesthetics, and, starting from 2024, a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Aesthetics and Phenomenology. Since 2011, I have also worked as an art critic in the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.
