Since 2025, I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Rule of Law Centre. After completing my PhD in early modern history at the University of Helsinki, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the Academy of Finland project, Comparing Early Modern Colonial Laws.

My current research focuses on institutional economic history, state-building, economic growth, the development of legal institutions, legal modernization in the nineteenth century, and the impact of colonialism in societies. My primary areas of interest are Latin America and Southeast Asia, with a particular emphasis on Brazil and Indonesia.
