Katri is currently examining the prerequisites for epistemically and cognitively just political dialogue. Empirically, she is interested in exploring this question in the context of the partnership between the EU and the African, Caribbean and the Pacific Group of States.

More broadly, Katri’s thesis project focuses on the desirability and potential applications of global ethics, especially in the light of those critiques that demand the realisation of epistemic and ontological justice. Her research interests include (but are not restricted to) global ethics and cosmopolitanism; feminist ethics and epistemology; decolonial and postcolonial theory; the capability approach; and alternatives to development.

Katri’s research is currently funded by the Kone Foundation. She has previously received funding from the SYLFF Association of the University of Helsinki.
