Information om forskning och undervisning

I am a Professor of Uralic Studies at LMU Munich, and I work primarily on the syntax of Uralic languages from a typological, areal and contact perspective. I am also a (remote) visiting researcher in the project Negation in Clause Combining: Typological and usage-based perspectives at the University of Helsinki.

My background is in linguistic typology (the title of my doctoral dissertation was Towards a typology of participles, defended in April 2017). I have also done field work on a number of underdescribed languages including Kalmyk, Nanai, Erzya, Nivkh, Uilta, and Hill Mari.
