I am a postdoctoral researcher interested broadly in sociolinguistics, particularly in language attitudes and ideologies, and language and gender. In my PhD dissertation, I examined generic and nonbinary pronouns in English, focusing especially on language attitudes. In my postdoctoral projects I have explored identity construction in various settings, gender-exclusive language in Finnish, hateful online commentary, and training datasets used in language-based machine learning. I currently work in project LAIF (Language Awareness and Ideologies in Finland).

I work both with survey and corpus data, and I am skilled in both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with a particular interest in mixed methods research.
