Marco Piasentier is a University Researcher in the Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in Law, Identity and the European Narratives and team leader of subproject 2, Discovering the Limits of Reason - Europe and the Crisis of Universalism.

He obtained a PhD in philosophy from the Scuola Normale Superiore and the University of Kent, and subsequently held research positions in the Academy of Finland projects Biopolitics and Democracy in Global Governance (Helsinki) and Crises Redefined: Historical Continuity and Societal Change (Jyväskylä).

Marco is also Research Fellow at the Center for Critical Thought (University of Kent) and funding editor of the Journal of Italian Philosophy. From 2013 to 2020, he collaborated with the Italian political and cultural news magazine MicroMega, for whom he acted as editor on its website Il Rasoio di Occam. Filosofia/filosofie. Between 2015 and 2018, he directed an internaltional summer school in theoretical philosophy.

His work chiefly focuses on themes in Post-Kantian European philosophy, social & political thought, and the history of 20th Century philosophy, analytic and continental.
