Information om forskning och undervisning

Marta Maroni is a PhD candidate in Constitutional Law. Marta´s interests are multidisciplinary and lie at the intersection between law and Internet Communications Technology.

 

The working title of her thesis is The right to access the Internet: political encounters between law and Internet Communications Technology

Her thesis explores what the right to access the Internet consists of and its significance in the overall governance of the Internet. Marta´s research offers a distinctive perspective of the right to access the Internet by combining Systems theory, Internet Governance and Science & Technology Studies (STS)

Marta holds a Master´s degree in International Relations (Faculty of Political Science- University of Perugia) where she graduated with a thesis in Public Law on The establishment of an Independent Human Rights Institution in Italy.

 

Marta has been visiting researcher at the Oñati International Institute for the Sociology of Law(in 2014 for three months), Faculty of Law Lund university through the LERU Project(March-April 2017), and she is currently a Visiting Student at the European University Institute.

 

She has previously worked as legislative assistant at the Italian Senate for four years, where she collaborated with the Standing Committee on European Union Policies and the Special Committee for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights.

 
 
 
Teaching: Internet governance and fundamental rights.
 
The course offers an overview of Internet Governance and the challenges that it poses in terms of regulation, distribution of power and rights.
