Information om forskning och undervisning

PhD Mikko Puustinen is university lecturer in history and social studies education. His research interests include also teacher education. In his PhD thesis Puustinen focused on the disciplinization process of Finnish subject teacher education from the 1970s to the 2010s. Methodologically he is especially familiar with rhetorical analysis. Recently, Puustinen has studied the disciplinary base of history and social studies with close connection to disciplinary literacy and powerful knowledge. During 2018 and 2019 Puustinen implemented an observation study which shed light on what goes on in Finnish history classrooms. Puustinen is part international KOSS-network which draws from the concepts of ‘powerful knowledge’ and ‘epistemic quality’. His other research interests include economics education and the meanings in-service teachers perceive for educational research and theory.
