We aim to understand how our genome, early environment and stochastic events together contribute to our phenotypes. We will reveal the mechanisms by which environment affects the gene regulation in early embryo and adult health by using two different environmental factors, prenatal alcohol exposure and in vitro fertilization. Our focus is on the epigenome and its role as a mediator of environmental influences.
