I am a cognitive scientist, who studies cognition, speech and language. I am interested in how the human brain enables communication between people and how communication is supported by the interaction between motor, sensory and cognitive mechanisms. I use various brain research tools, especially brain stimulation in combination with electophysiological methods.

Before starting as professor at the University of Helsinki in 2021, I worked in the University of Nottingham (2017-2020 assistant professor), University of Oxford (2007-2017, Marie Curie Fellow, MRC Career Development Fellow) and Helsinki University of Technology (PhD student, post-doc).
