Personlig profil

Semir Sali is a doctoral researcher in public international law. His research deals with the jurisdictional immunities of international organisations and their possible clash with human rights obligations, such as the right of access to court. The main research question is whether the absolute nature of the immunities of international organisations has a sound legal basis under international law as a necessary and desirable feature for the proper functioning of international organisations.

His previous experience includes work at legal offices of international organisations, such as the United Nations and NATO, as well as at judicial institutions, such as the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Albania.

Semir is a graduate of Leiden University, the Netherlands and the University of Turin, Italy.
