Smarika KC

I am a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Helsinki. My research interests are intersectionality, migration, ageing and well-being. My doctoral research is funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

I have an international master's degree in advanced development in social work from the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom with a scholarship award from the Erasmus Mundus (2015-2017). It was a joint master's programme which gave me an opportunity to have an academic mobility in five universities in Europe: University of Lincoln, United Kingdom; Aalborg University, Denmark; University Paris Ouest La Défense Nanterre, France; Institute of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lisbon, Portugal and University of Warsaw, Poland. 

I also have five years of work experience in the international development sector mainly in communications, project management, monitoring and evaluation.
