INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN CREATIVE INDUSTRIES

Dr. Suvi Lamminpää holds a doctoral degree in arts and design from University of Lapland, and is currently preparing a second dissertation (law) that focuses on intellectual property in creative industries. The aim of the project, is to research the legal (design) dimension of intangible assets and intellectual property management in small and medium sized creative enterprises. Theoretical framework of the project is based on the principles of proactive law and new property law (uusi varallisuusoikeus), and utilising empirical legal research methods.

KNOWLEDGE AS A STRATEGIC RESOURCE & INTELLECTUAL ASSET

Knowledge has, for a long time, been portrayed as an important intellectual asset and a strategic organizational resource. Recent developments, such as digitalisation and creative economy have, even more, emphasised the role of knowledge, as a source of competitive advantage and additional value.

— Knowledge as a strategic resource and asset, as a wider research interest, groups together some of the present and previous research themes, such as:
