Information om forskning och undervisning
I started my PhD in January 2018 after graduating from the Department of Geosciences and Geography in University of Helsinki in 2017. The main focus of my studies has been the Arctic environmental change and marine geology. In my master studies I focused on reconstructing the sea surface temperatures in the western coast of Svalbard, working with diatom proxies.
My PhD is a part of the Academy of Finland funded project “Arctic sea-ice proxies: from seasonal processes to improved reconstructions”. My main focus is in developing a better understanding of the proxy production based on diatom and dinoflagellate cysts assemblages, sea-ice derived molecular biomarker IP25s and molecular genetic analysis. I will work with sediment, water and sea ice samples from Young Sound, NE Greenland and Hudson Bay, Canada.
