Ms Tiina Korhonen (PhD) is the University Lecturer (Learning Innovations in Digital Society) and head of Innokas Network www.innokas.fi, coordinating nationwide Innovation Education activities for over 750 schools in Finland. Dr. Korhonen’s earlier experience includes professional teacher tenures in several Finnish elementary schools, with seven years as Vice headmaster in a school focusing on Innovation Education.During her tenures, she has designed and implemented several professional development programs for teachers, managed a learning center focusing on Innovation education and coordinated a nationwide educational technology subproject of the Finnable 2020 and C04Lab research project. Currently she coordinates the Growing Mind research projects involving 62 researchers, funded by the Academy of Finland as well as several Innokas Network projects. She develops and delivers the new "Learning and Teaching in Digital Environments" in-service training for Finnish teachers organized by the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki. 

Her research work, including the Innovative School framework, has been published in peer-reviewed publications and research textbooks. In her dissertation, Dr. Korhonen expanded the existing model of home-school collaboration model with novel ways to use digital technology to support a digital partnership between home and school. In her academic work she collaborates with several international partners, including the SCALE at Stanford University and FabLearn Lab at Columbia University.

Dr. Korhonen’s professional interests lie in the wide landscape of 21st century learning and development of school practice in the context of the digital society, with special focus on the practical opportunities available through digital tools and processes, including digital learning environments, coding, and robotics. Through her national and international collaborative network she develops and shares innovative school practices in learning, professional teaching and in school leadership and school partnerships.
