I am an Academy Research Fellow with a specialization in European philosophy, the history of ideas, and politics at the Centre for European Studies at the University of Helsinki.

My research background is in the field of philosophy and European studies. I have published a number of scholarly articles on a range of topics, including modern historical philosophy, European economic history, political philosophy, liberalism, and social ontology. My articles have been recognized on two occasions at the annual meetings of the Society for Phenomenological and Existential Philosophy, the second largest philosophical society in the United States. In 2008, I was awarded the Graduate Student Award, and in 2013, I was honored with the Junior Scholar Award.

In 2021, I was bestowed the distinction of European of the Year. In 2023, I was the recipient of the J. V. Snellman Prize, and in 2024, I was awarded the Academy of Finland Academy Award.

I hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree (2013) and was awarded an associate professorship at the Faculty of Political Science in 2019. My academic interests include the development of European liberalism, the intersection of history and philosophy, and the relationship between politics, economics, and law. Additionally, I actively follow political developments in contemporary Europe and frequently comment on EU and European issues in international and domestic media.
