Information om forskning och undervisning

Yiyang Ding is currently a Ph.D student in Forest soil sciences at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Forestry from North-east Forestry University, China (2015). Her major research interests including root and mycorrhizal ecology and above- and below-ground C cycling of forest ecosystems. In her more recent publications on the Journal of Forest Ecology and Management (2018, 2021), she emphasized that a strong focus should be on the quantification of both above- and belowground C cycling of different canopy and understory species in boreal forests. Her future research will be focused on fine root/ectomycorrhizal mycelia dynamics in response to climate change by using two underground manual/automatic root-imaging systems (Minirhizotron and flatbed scanners).
