Yiyang Ding is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Dept. of Forest Sciences and Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR) at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Forestry from North-east Forestry University, China. She received her doctoral degree at University of Helsinki in 2021. Her major research interests include fine root and mycorrhizal ecology and above- and below-ground soil C cycling in boreal forest ecosystems. Her future research will be focused on fine root/ectomycorrhizal mycelia dynamics in response to climate change by using two underground manual/automatic root-imaging systems (Minirhizotron and flatbed scanners), not only in forest ecosystems but also in urban and agriculture ecosystems.
