A sense of sustainability: Democracy, sustainability, and education

The primary objectives of the project are: (a) to explore the three challenges to sustainability education (SE) that derive from SE incorporating elements from both moral education and education for democracy from both theoretical and practical perspectives; (b) to reflect on the potential of SE in transforming contemporary education for a sustainable future; and (c) to
develop a pedagogy suitable for addressing challenges to SE.
The secondary objectives are: (a) to bring together scholars within the Nordic countries, both senior researchers and young researcher, to create and sustain intranordic canals for academic work, and (b) to create partnerships between the academia and certain non-academic agents (schools, NGOs and local authority) across the Nordic countries.
