Broad houses as stages of history

Projekt: EU finansiering

Projektinformation

Beskrivning (abstrakt)

Broad houses are a special type of Ostrobothnian peasant houses. Most of them are located in Central Ostrobothnia where they represent the oldest buildings of the region. Some of the broad houses are real giants. The Central Ostrobothnian broad house is one of the biggest peasant-house types in the world. In this project we visit the still remaining broad houses and gather their history also from archives. House owners will be interviewed and asked their willingness to participate history travel activities. Information on built heritage will be given in public lectures and in e-report.
