Beskrivning (abstrakt)
Climate change brings together environmental activists worldwide in a
simultaneously, and partly joint, effort to engage in political debate
and influence policy-making. It is probably the most crucial question of
our time, and the most concrete globally connecting feature in the field
of civic engagement today. This comparative research project examines
the engagements of the global civil society in the task of promoting
sustainable climate politics on three levels: in national media debates
concerning global climate politics, in transnational NGOs and
associations lobbying for sustainable politics, and in local activist
groups promoting sustainable everyday practices. The countries of
comparison are Finland, France, India, Russia, and the US (California).
