The aim of the project is to strengthen regional food identity by means of communication and thereby contribute to the development of the food industry in South Savo area. The project will strengthen locality, increase awareness about local food and food industry, coverage of the food industry business, appreciation of food, interest towards food and the food sector as well as to strengthen food know-how throughout the food chain.
The project will carry out general communication of food, conway food information and food research in popular format. The project will organize briefings on current issues for food industry businesses and entrepreneurs, consumer and professional events, as well as public lectures, implement internet communication and prepare papers for various journals, as well as compile and relay information about the South Savo food sector. The project will strengthen locality by deleloping the coverage of SaimaaMenu particularly concerning the offerings of the restaurants. Regeneration and innovation of the food chain is promoted by the project by organizing a food innovation competition. The project will connect to the nationwide local food activities in Finland and coordinate local food activities regionally in South Savo area.
