Projektinformation

Beskrivning (abstrakt)

This Project addresses regulating liability for different kinds of harms (e.g. personal injuries, damaged property, and economic harm) caused by artificial intelligence (AI). The Project covers EU law and its relationship to Member State laws. The research methods are based on methods of legal science. The Project focuses on desirable liability rules in terms of their substance (’micro level’) and on appropriate system levels and methods for developing regulation (’macro level’), and presents recommendations for legal and regulatory solutions. Further, we develop analytical tools for choosing functioning regulatory approaches in the EU. The Project contributes to resolving topical AI-related liability issues in legal science and in practice. Moreover, our research facilitates optimal reactions to technological development in the area of EU private law.
