Beskrivning (abstrakt)

HuSArctic - Human Security as a promotional tool for societal security in the Arctic – was a four-year research project funded by the Finnish Academy and based in the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law in the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland. The project connected researchers from numerous countries and various backgrounds to different societal stakeholders, in order to elaborate on multiple vulnerabilities and challenges to the Arctic population, with a specific reference to the Barents region.

The aim of this project was to address the human security challenges of the Arctic from different aspects, and to offer recommendations on how to enhance human security in the region. We published a book with Brill for which I wrote a contribution.
