National training programme of regional development ALVA

In ALVA, a national in-service training of regional development is created, which consists of both a national and a regional item. The network gathers together the know-how from different university consortiums in the field of regional development. It also promotes the increasing of expertise and the spreading of the best practices between universities and districts. The national modules are common to all the participants in the programme and the regional modules are constructed around the strengths of each district.

The ALVA -training programme is primarily aimed at persons working in the regional development tasks of towns, municipalities, public administration and provincial alliances and other development organizations. The planning of the programme started in the autumn 2008 and the work will be finished in 2009. The planning is coordinated by a group, in which all the university consortiums are represented.
