OPerationalising Ecosystem services in business Sustainability: drawing from green and circular bioeconomy

The green economy and circular-bioeconomy are international sustainability strategies aiming at reconciling complex economic, environmental and social goals. They however imply very different solutions for managing natural resources and creating social value. Despite their popularity in policy making, business and academia, there are no analyses on the synergies and conflicts of these strategies; and on the effects of their joint implementation on ecosystem services. Project OPES will explore these issues from the perspective of responsible business management. OPES will mainly adopt qualitative research methods, analysing interviews with experts and company stakeholders, corporate disclosure material and other literature.
