Pedagogical thinking in applied theological studies

Projekt: Forskningsprojekt

Projektinformation

Beskrivning (abstrakt)

The purpose of the project is to investigate teachers' and students' thinking and acting in the applied theological studies that prepare to work in the Lutheran Church. Furthermore, the interaction and dialogue between teachers and students are studied in the framework of pedagogical thinking (Kansanen, Tirri, Meri, Krokfors, Husu & Jyrhämä 2000). The possible differences in the pedagogical thinking of teachers' and studies' are compared together. The results of the study are used to develop the supervision practices at the department of practical theology. The empirical data is gathered with interviews. In the first phase of the study we explore teachers' pedagogical thinking and the justifications they give to their supervision practices. In the second phase of the study the students' are studied and the data sets are compared together.
