Beskrivning (abstrakt)

There are challenges in meeting of demand and supply of services related to the services of multi-local residents, e.g. due to the seasonality. Multi-locality is an important factor for the development South-Savo as the number of second-home owners is here relatively the largest in Finland. The value of their private consumption is already 157 Meuros yearly. Teleworking at second homes has became more popular rapidly, e.g. because of the pandemic. Traditional statistics do not recognize the different forms of multi-local dwelling and its rapid changes why more sophisticated information is needed for the service design. Through the electricity usage data, information on these issues can be obtained in a new ways. The project implements a study utilizing Suur-Savon Sähkö Oy's electricity consumption data. The result of the study more detailed information will be obtained on the temporal rhythms of multi-local living and regional differences, as well as trends of multi-local dwelling in Sout Savo. The project is funded by the province of South Savo.
