This project aims at analyzing the foreign policy of the Catholic Church and
the Vatican between the two World Wars with a special emphasis on the
Vatican’s relations with the new states created in the aftermath of the
First World War and their nationalistic aspirations. The geographical
focus of the project is on Poland (especially Galicia), the Baltic
states, Soviet Union, and Britain (especially Malta).
