Work and Learning Pathways: Stories of Transition and Adaptability

The aim of the study was to investigate synchronicities which may exist amongst an established theoretical career development framework, the personal career guidance needs of a target group of clients, emerging workforce development issues and lifelong guidance practices. This was done by designing and implementing a qualitative, interview-based approach to investigating the career trajectories of older women (with ages between 45 and 65 years). The project's leading Investigators (international consortium) were Jenny Bimrose (Institute for Employment Research at the University of Warwick, Warwick, England), Mary McMahon (University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia), and Mark Watson (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa). Filomena was the PI for the Portuguese study.
