Sammanfattning

This chapter focuses on the function(s) of authoring and performativity/ies as analytical strategies. The departure is that doing discourse analysis involves a research practice of ethics where the author is per formatively constituted as a narrating subject and constitutes other subjects through language. The chapter offers three analytical strategies:
- Performing the writing self - the social construction of scholarly authoring
- Performing the death of the author - the becoming of writing and intertextuality
- Performing amazing stories - critical rewriting and rereading
It concludes by a set of open questions and concerns to inspire your own use of this analytical tool.
