Sammanfattning

Parasitoids are speciose and common insects that are an important component of natural and managed ecosystems. They exhibit a wide variety of adaptations to the parasitoid lifestyle and are important model organisms in many areas of biological research, in particular ecology, evolution and physiology. Research on their behavior and ecology has suggested ways they can be used to protect crops from pests – biological control – a more sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides.
