Percepción de la forma musical

Sammanfattning

Music perception has been discussed from diverse points of view through the years. Most of these approaches have been aesthetic-philosophic without any scientific tool. One specific aspect of musical perception is the perception of the musical form. Musical form is important for the understanding of a music piece. Some compositional aesthetics do not consider the idea of form as fundamental in relation to the experience of music in time. Nevertheless, cognitive psychology provides tools for evaluating musical form perception and music understanding, showing how these cognitive processes work. Although these investigations are still in development stage, it can be initially concluded that music perception is unavoidable but manifold. Composers might also take advantage of the features of the involved cognitive processes in order to improve the understanding of their musical works.
