Sammanfattning

Plastomes play an important role in maintaining plant viability through dynamic remodeling of electron transport across the thylakoid membrane. With few exceptions, embryophyte (land plant) plastomes are structurally conserved, while those of green algae show more variation in gene order and content. These features provide clues towards understanding not only the plastome evolution but also the phylogenetic relationships. We report the the plastome of an embryophyte Blasia pusilla, representing one of the early lineages of liverworts and the charophycean green alga Coleochaete orbicularis, epiphyte of shallow fresh water habitats, based on a combination of PACBIO-SMRT and Illumina sequencing technologies. We also provide an overview of the transcriptional status of the C. orbicularis plastome and phylogenetic resolution using embryophyte B. pusilla.
