Sammanfattning

This paper explores the evolving landscape of EU law on liability for AI-related harm. It presents the findings from the AILIAEU research project (2020-2024), which investigated current, emerging and potential liability rules within the EU. The paper discusses the adequacy of the existing laws, the necessity for new rules, and the challenges in implementing a harmonised legal framework across the Member States. In addition, the paper highlights the limitations of damages liability as a means of remedying harm that has been caused by AI.
