Sammanfattning

Lichens were collected from the Taita Hills, Kenya, during a one week period in
January 2011. This work presents the collected lichens with green algae as a
primary photobiont. The sample collecting was made in various forest habitats: in
indigenous forests, forests with some human influence and in plantation forests.
Specimens collected from the rock of the mountain Ngangao are also included.
Different habitats as well as species ecology and characteristics of the area are
shortly presented. Parmotrema planatilobatum is suggested as a new species to
Kenya.
