Parent-child interaction has long-term impact on child development. Support for parenthood can be universal, targeted or intense. This article focuses on intervention models with at least some empirical evidence and most of which are currently available in Finland. Based on intervention research, there is evidence on the positive impact of intervention on parenting and parent-child interaction. To ensure the availability of intervention models, it is important for professionals to have access to training and to information of evidence-based interventions.
